Google + adds Hangouts on the Android Market

With the excitement of the Android-powered Amazon Kindle Fire yesterday, I almost forgot about the whole Google+ attempt at usurping Facebook as the number one social network.

If you want, you can go to the Android Market right now and download it. You can use its Circles feature in order to “share the right things with just the right people”. You can also visit the stream to get updates from your circles or see what people are saying nearby.

Sharing is apparently “a snap” on Google + and instant uploading of videos and photos to ones own private album. In all honesty, I don’t really use Facebook often, but these days, I probably should.

New to the Google + application is a new feature for Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) phones or higher called Hangout. Having a front facing camera is another necessity for Hangout to function. Hangout is a video chat feature that allows a user to simply turn on their front facing camera and join a party.

For reasons that are related to party-crashing perverts, this feature is for those 18 years and over. Perhaps you want to join Google +, download the app, find your friends, and hangout!
