NVidia’s CEO sees a bright future with Android. He has claimed that mobile hardware manufacturers will slowly join hands with Google Android OS to deliver hardware specifically catered to this awesome OS which has support for multitasking and has an awesome developer community behind it.

The most promising devices in this field are mobile phones and table PCs. These tablet PCs with their innovative designs are totally stealing the show and NVidia CEO Jen-Hsun Huang admits that Windows is just not the right choice for tablet PCs. Tablet PCs need something that is not loaded with features. They need specific features which people will find handy to use. That brings Android into the picture.

He went on to say,

Android has become the fastest growing mobile operating system in the world and, in fact, it has surpassed the iPhone in terms of growth and in terms of users. Andy Rubin and his team [at Google] know exactly where the industry needs to go. Android started out as a phone but it’s not lost on them that the tablet is going to be very important and that the Android operating system has to evolve, and be enhanced in certain capabilities, in order to be a good tablet operating system.

Skyrocketing iPad sales indicate that people are really interested in buying a tablet PC and much better can be offered with the power of the Android OS. However, the iPad is great in terms of looks and any Android device has to overtake iPad in that respect to earn a place in the tablet PC market.

NVidia has big plans with its Tegra 2 processor coming soon and once it is released; only Android OS with its multitasking will be able to exploit its full potential.
