PocketNow has recently reported that this particular phone here, the HTC Edge, will be the first smartphone to run NVidia’s Tegra 3 processor.

For those that don’t know what a Tegra 3 processor is, it has four 1.5 GHz cores allowing for running multiple sets of program instructions.

What this means is that Tegra 3 is going to be blazingly fast, I would say lightning fast like Verizon’s 4G is advertised to be. Considering that apps on NVidia’s Tegra 2 devices run quite smoothly, Tegra 3 can only be better.

As for what else this rumored Tegra 3 phone will have, it sounds very similar to the HTC Rezound that we reported on the other day. For example, it will have a 1GB of memory and may even come with Beats by Dre Audio. The screen would be 0.4 inches larger at 4.7, which is really impressive. Now, if it came with Android’s Ice Cream Sandwich under the hood, that would be impressive.

I suppose that we will see.
