Back in 2003, when cellular phones were starting to be owned by just everyone (and not the rich), Motorola introduced a skinny phone known as the RAZR, which sold over 50 million units. Sadly, it was a dumb phone, and as it was eclipsed by smarter ones, Motorola ceased production of this handset five years ago.

Motorola has recently announced that they are having a RAZR revival, and it will be the thinnest smartphone on the planet at 7.1 mm! It will not be a flip phone, as that clamshell style is kind of passe now.

The new RAZR has a dual-core processor, 8-Megapixel rear-facing camera (with 1080p video recording capability), a 4.3 inch Super AMOLED touchscreen encased in Gorilla Glass, a Kevlar backing, Android 2.3 (Gingerbread), and 4G LTE.

The RAZR will be available sometime in November from Verizon for a price of $299, which includes a 2-year contract. It will also be possible to purchase accessories like keyboard and laptop docks. It will be available for pre-order on October 27.
