In 2009, Samurai: Way of the Warrior was featured as one of the Best Games by Apple. Samurai II: Vengeance is its successor, and it has come to the Android platform.

Console gamers might be amazed that Samurai II could put their 3D games of the Xbox and PS3, but it has been the product of over a year of focused development. According to the Android Market, the screenshots won’t do it justice, so accept this shot on faith that the game itself is cool.

Samurai II is a typical and yet atypical hack and slash, with a new virtual d-pad, dynamic camera, traps, environmental puzzles, and lots of new enemies. The premise involves Daisuke, on a quest for revenge against his arch enemy Orochi, hence the subtitle.

The game will run at 60 frames per second on Tegra 2 Devices, and there are some beautiful anime-style comic book panels that essentially tell the story of the game throughout.

All in all, it should be worth the $2.99 to get it on the Android Market. You should be able to download it here.
