SwiftKey is describe in its own words as “the next-generation AI keyboard”. I got a chance to try it out this weekend, and I believe it is worthy of this title.
SwiftKey X is based on a new version of TouchType’s advanced Fluency language inference engine It includes cloud-based personalization as it figures out your typing patterns based on what you had done on Facebook, Twitter, and Gmail, not to mention who sent your SMS messages.
I found that when I was typing an SMS message, it figured out very quickly what word that I was typing, and it had a little bar with at least three words so I could easily select them. This made texting a lot faster than my normal method.
SwiftKey X isn’t one of those free applications, but I believe the price of it justifies the price you pay by having to correct text messages. SwiftKey X for smartphones is available at the Android Market here for $3.96, and SwiftKey X for tablets can be purchased here for $4.96.
